What Is Reality Anyways?

Chapter Seven

There are approximately 7,515,284,153 people on our planet right now. That means, there are approximately 7,515,284,153 separate realities taking place on our planet right now. Let that sink in for a moment.

Our sensory systems are being manipulated through controlled scents, sounds, and subliminal visuals. The main sources of this are through television, the internet, film, and marketing. Add to that, what we learn in school, family values, and the environment that each person has been placed in. Although we are all spirits having a human experience, no human experience is exactly like the other. Pretty incredible! In chapter seven, I share a few personal stories of my sensory experiences that some may label in the clairvoyant categories or just plain delusional. :o) But do remember, the reality we live in is always up for debate.

The Ego

Chapter Six: The Earthly Gorgeous Outfit

I offered a suggestion of theory that the Ego is the collective consciousness of the physical body. I am not stating this as a scientist nor a therapist so take it as you will.  It is just a reasonable conclusion in a world full of possibilities. And it is not in anyway my end all conclusion for this topic of discussion, but I do believe that this topic of discussion has many possibilities and can open doors of the mind to search further. 

The one thing I do conclude is that the Ego is a vital part of who and what we are. To destroy it would be to destroy the essence of this human experience. I do think it is important however to work with our Ego and set a goal to become a loving and healthy ego. The Ego is what makes us all different from each other. And because we all have one, it is our unity as well.

Synchronicity

Chapter 5: Synchronicity

I have often heard that synchronicity is God’s way of communicating. Synchronicities are like the crumbs of bread that lead you back to your path getting you on track again. Some will argue that it is all coincidental, and that is fine, to each their own as always.  But after so many years of observing what we call synchronicity and coincidental happenings, I do not believe in the latter. 

What I love most about synchronicities is that they mostly transpire as little things placed within our daily lives. For example, I was thinking about should I go to the Tattoo Expo, or should I not go to it because I really could not afford to, but I really should go because from a journalist point of view, I really could not afford to not go … and so the wheels of my mind turned as I stood on the sidewalk waiting for a bus to arrive. As I stood there, I noticed the VUE Weekly paper in the newspaper box and grabbed a copy. As I flipped it over and looked at the back page my eyes immediately fell upon the half page advertisement for the Edmonton Tattoo & Arts Festival. You just can’t make this kind of shit up, seriously. 

Some of the most profound learning experiences for me came in the form of being connected by a series of synchronicities. In my book Flight of the White Crow, I have shared one of these stores and called it, The Eye of My Ego. Life has taught me to never underestimate the connection we have to all things around us, whether that be people, animals, situations or music. Life itself is a communications device. And when we pay attention to the conjunctions, life becomes even more interesting.
